Laura Kennedy is a forest school leader and children’s mindfulness teacher. She previously worked as a primary school teacher. She has run year-long forest school programmes with preschools and primary schools in the woods around Galway. She provides continuous professional development for teachers in environmental, development and human rights education. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of and love for the natural world.

A grower, forager, crafter and writer, her first book Wondering Wild is being published in May 2026.

A member of the Irish Forest School Association, she continues her own professional development at their annual gatherings and other courses throughout the year.  She holds a certificate in REC3 Wilderness First Aid, and completed an accredited three day course on Working with Challenging Behaviour in the Outdoors, Open College Network.
